To Sir Tariq.
I had heard alot about this particular teacher.I had not only heard of his great skills in maths but also of his way of teaching that had taken all his students by not only surprise but great enjoyment. My sister had the great honor of being this great teachers student and i was ever so anxiously waiting to complete my ninth grade and get to study maths from him and learn about his great tricks and skills that everyone talked about. So, you could have imagined our excitement when me and my friends got to know that our new maths teacher would be Sir Tariq,The maths mastermind. But along with anxiously waiting for our first lesson with him,me and my friends also wanted to experience his unique way of teaching. Finally all of my classmates filed in after the schools assembly. All throughout the assembly,we were talking about the next class. We had to Que up outside the class to wait for our class monitor to open the door. But that particular morning we did not.The first thing we noticed when we came back to the class was that the door was open as well as the light and fans. Inside sat the teacher. Our new teacher,The one all of us had anticipated to have a class with.I noticed he had an air of coolness about him.As all of us filed past him,he smiled and waited patiently for everyone to settle down.He introduced himself as Sir Tariq. He took our introduction then.He knew many of the girls who had been sisters of his former students.I noticed he always had a nice thing to say about everyone. When my turn came for introduction,he instantly recognised me because of the great similarity between me and my sisters features. The next thing he said really got all of us surprised. He said that we wont be studying anything today. Maths was one of the most lengthy subject. All math teachers intended to start teaching maths the minute they got the first class and even till the end of term we would be studying without a break apart from the occasional holidays that came along the way.Of course none of us minded.None of us can miss such a got opportunity of a free period especially the very first period when everyone is feeling drowsy. This gave us more time to explore our new teacher. We found out he had a great liking for poetry. He quoted great lines whether he wrote them or somebody else still remains a mystery. But i am guessing they were his personal pieces as they matched his moods and lifestyles. He always had great jokes to tell us along with some really mind blogging riddles. When it came to studies I would say he was the greatest mathelete that lived. He was so clever and direct. In one word he was a genius. Some girls did not take advantage of his great skills and its their loss.I admit I had been slow, bored and even a nuisance at times but i regret it just as much.Because I learned one of the many great lessons from him. Before I had been tutored by this amazing teacher,I had feared maths.Sure I had been good at it but the marks i lost in my tests were always due to fear.Fear of what I am not exactly sure about. After being taught by Sir Tariq,I started taking maths as an easy subject just like history etc.He had a very relaxed demeanour.Everyone was caught up in the way he taught us.Everyone had fun being taught that way.Everyone started loving maths the way he taught us.We used to eat in his class, crack jokes .Our maths class was more of fun then what math classes had been about since i had been studying maths. With few lines of purely beautiful poetry over there, some few tricks over here,Some hard calculations he had made easy for us there and the next thing we knew,we were math lovers forever. At the end of our lesson he quoted some lines from his refined poetry. We always waited anxiously for that.Sometimes we would not understand what he had quoted but we always knew it had great meaning and depth. He had been a great teacher, and it was absolutely amazing being taught by him.I will always remember him as the best maths teacher ever.May God help him always and give him all the happiness in the world.Amen.
